Driving licence vision test

A driving licence eyesight test is a test that checks a person's eyesight to determine whether they are able to drive a vehicle safely. In Germany, passing an eye test is a prerequisite for obtaining a driving licence.

The eye test is carried out by us as an optician or ophthalmologist. Various tests are carried out to check visual acuity, spatial vision and the ability to distinguish between colours. The test may also include other aspects of vision such as peripheral vision and contrast vision. The test is passed if a certain minimum visual acuity is achieved, which can vary depending on the country and driving licence category.

At Lindemann Optik, you can take the eye test without making an appointment for a statutory fee of currently seven euros.
